Ave de Invierno

I know one day Ill be free, but 'till then I'll be just counting steps,
following hints that lead to the moon,
hearing stories that no one is sure of.
And I'm freezing myself in the cold.
I don’t need more than you for inspiration;
I don’t need more than you and a coat.
There are so many things I’ve always wanted to be,
but it’s hard to grow feathers on my skin, or evaporate myself up to the sky.
There’s no one waiting for me at the end of the road,
everybody is asleep, no one likes the cold.
